Responsible for all elements of ledger management, including preparing account reconciliations, analysing balance sheet and profit and loss items, and overseeing revenue management
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will play a key role within the team, responsible for the day-to-day management of accounting processes for our UK operating portfolio, which currently comprises 18 SPVs (wind and solar assets with a total capacity of 252 MW).
You will share responsibility for overseeing all areas of financial control and reporting, including maintaining accurate books and records, preparing periodic management accounts, and contributing inputs and commentary for the monthly investor reports. You will also assist with the management of the revenue process (approx. $55m annually) and work with the finance team and asset managers to produce high quality financial reports and commentary while ensuring Group reporting deadlines are adhered to. A growing part of the role is to develop, maintain, and enhance financial models to support business planning, portfolio valuation, and strategic decision-making. This will eventually involve updating valuation models bi-annually and assessing the impact of market and operational changes on portfolio performance
- Assist with the preparation of the annual financial statements for the SPVs, in accordance with Group policies and procedures;
- Integration and onboarding of new assets where applicable
- Support the Project Finance function by preparing quarterly/semi-annual reports as required and assist with updating of project models;
- Provide support to the Asset Managers in preparing budgets and completing periodic re-forecasts.
- Provide regular and adhoc management information and business support information as required;
- Develop, maintain and enhance financial models.
- Undertake ad-hoc projects to drive improvements;
- Perform remit reporting
- Submit reporting inputs in line with the monthly timetable, allowing sufficient time for thorough management review.
- Maintain accurate books and records in accordance with GAAP and UK company law, including journal entries, month-end closing in line with the Group’s reporting deadlines, accruals and prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Utilise financial models to aid business decision making and provide subsequent financial analysis and commentary on movements and drivers of overall value.
- Assist the Operations Accountant with revenue, pricing (with reference to PPA contracts) and generation data management (including DECC uploads)
- Monitor monthly performance to budget, review material variances and provide relevant, high quality financial commentary;
- Updating, improving and implementing procedures for the finance team

- Prior experience within the renewable energy sector is desirable, though applicants from real estate, property, oil and gas, or similar backgrounds will also be considered
- A proven ability to organize multiple priorities, work well under pressure to meet various deadlines, and to quickly identify the mission critical items;
- G/L, cash and supplier management and invoice authorisation (in accordance with the Group Chart of Authority)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, fluid environment and able to take a pro-active approach;
- Exposure to working with multiple key business stakeholders and delivery of accurate, timely inputs;
- A proven ability to build collaborative relationships both internally and externally;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The successful candidate will have first class academics and qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent with PQE experience.
- Previous exposure to NETSUITE ERP an advantage;
- Good knowledge of IFRS and financial concepts;
- Experience of on-boarding assets and implementing and documenting of processes and procedures;
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (specifically Excel and PowerPoint);
