Support the hydraulic structure design group and other disciplines by applying structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of structural designs
Assist in the preparation of written reports summarizing inspections and findings
Participate in local and national dam, hydraulic structure and bridge inspections
Prepare pre inspection planning tasks including but not limited to site walks, development of health and safety plans, rigging and rescue plans, confined space entry plans, and coordinating with health and safety

0-2+ years’ bridge/structural inspection and design experience preferred
Enthusiastic individual with a willingness to become certified as a Society of Professional Rope Access Technician (SPRAT) and work at heights.
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to travel for multiple night stays during the week.
Must be willing to work with other disciplines (bridge design, roadway design, hydraulic analysis, stream restoration, planning, traffic control) within the office, as necessary, during inspection downtime.
Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must have good communication skills and be willing to work in multi-disciplinary team environment.
Previous structural design experience (internship or full-time work experience) is a plus
This position requires physical ability to perform field inspections of in-service dam, spillways, bridge and culvert structures, tunnel structures, highway structures, overhead sign structures, hydraulic structures, and metal traffic signal poles. Physical demands include positioning extension ladders, maneuvering small boats, driving long distances, confined space, air travel, occasionally working at night, and walking long distances on uneven surfaces.
Candidate should expect exposure to environmental hazards, such as, but not limited to, warm and cold temperatures, water, work-at-height, poisonous plants, snakes, ticks, spiders, and other creatures.
