Model buildings in load calculation software such as HAP 6.1 and Trace 3D.
Review and apply Alberta and International mechanical and plumbing codes and standards.
Design sequence of operation for various mechanical systems
Review and apply NFPA 820 on wastewater treatment facilities
Site visits for local projects which are under construction.
Provide engineering services during construction (ESDC) such as submittal review and response to request for information (RFI)
Apply your expertise in leading and supporting studies, various levels of design development, services during construction for small, medium and large municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Design HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems using Revit if needed.
Assist and oversee junior staff and CAD team to develop design drawings, reports, specifications.
Determine equipment size, and select equipment by using selection software, using manufacturer’s catalogs, and working with vendors.
Develop design documents such as drawings, specifications, design criteria, and technical reports.
Design and analyze air and hydronic distribution systems (duct system and piping system)

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
Licensed professional engineer in the province of Alberta is a must
Strong understanding of Alberta and International mechanical and plumbing codes and standards
Ability to work collaboratively in a matrix environment and work with all levels of staff and leadership teams
Strong understanding of NFPA 820.
Strong background with heating or cooling load calculation program such as HAP, Trane Trace, Trace 3D Plus, or IES
P.E license (in any state in the US) is an asset. Or ability to obtain within 1-2 years from the date of employment is desirable.
At least 7 years of hands-on experience in HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection design in Water and Wastewater industry
Capability to gain license in other provinces in Canada within 6 months of employment is desirable
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, responsibilities and projects and adjust to changing demands by maintaining high quality work
Experience with Revit, and AutoCAD.
Strong interpersonal, time management and communication skills (verbal and written).
