Geotechnical EIT/Designer

Description

• Set up field exploration programs and coordinate with subcontractors.
• Perform assignments exercising judgement in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Conduct field inspections of construction activities, including earthwork and foundation installations.
• Travel throughout the Southeast to perform oversight of drilling operations, including logging and classifying soil and rock materials in accordance with applicable standards.

Requirements

Capable of working independently or in a team environment assisting Senior Geotechnical staff. Perform assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures.

• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Familiar with geotechnical engineering software such as CAD software (MicroStation)
• Capable of working independently or in a team environment assisting Senior Geotechnical staff. Perform assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or the ability to obtain within 12 months
• 03+ years of geotechnicalrelated engineering experience
• Willing to travel (up to 60%) throughout the Southeast, mainly SC, NC, VA, and GA
• Be capable of working independently or in a team environment assisting senior geotechnical staff
• MS or Master of Civil Engineering with geotechnical concentration
• Have strong oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of soil mechanics
• Local candidates are preferred
