Senior Land Surveyor

Description

• Lead and manage the Surveying and Mapping Department, overseeing project planning, execution, and delivery.
• Oversee the training and professional development of department staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to support cross-functional initiatives and projects.
• Prepare and present reports on departmental performance, project outcomes, and strategic initiatives to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in surveying and mapping.
• Manage departmental budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure successful project completion.
• Develop and implement departmental strategies, goals, and objectives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance surveying and mapping services.
• Marketing new public and private clients and mining existing clients/contracts in the South Florida Tri-County area.
• Serve as a key point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues to maintain strong relationships.

Requirements

• State of Florida Professional Surveyor License (PS) or equivalent certification is required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and clients.
• Proficiency in GIS software and other relevant tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in surveying and mapping, with 10 years in a leadership role.
• Demonstrates expertise in utilizing advanced tools and software to streamline processes, optimize workflows, and deliver high-quality results.
• Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Capable of managing field crews and office cad staff, along with doing necessary research, survey calculations and Quality Control.
• Proven ability to leverage cutting-edge technology, including scanning and point cloud data, to drive innovation and enhance operational efficiency.
• Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, geospatial technologies, and mapping software.
• Experienced in all aspects of surveying such as: Platting, Boundary, ALTA, Topographic, Legal Descriptions, Construction Layout and As-built Surveys.
