Test Engineer

Description

• Interface directly with third-party certification agencies and manage projects with them.
• Participate in sustaining and new product development teams to capture and document global hazardous location and performance requirements.
• Create test plans, oversee the execution of tests, and interpret the results in compliance with company and industry standards.
• Prepare technical justifications and documents to demonstrate compliance with applicable standards.
• Interpret and apply applicable safety and/or performance standards.
• Develop test and certification strategies to meet performance requirements.
• Write and execute test protocols in accordance with approval standards and procedures, record results, and compile test reports.

Requirements

• 1-4 years of experience in firmware formal verification and/or validation product testing & requirements.
• Strong skills in requirements analysis and validation.
• Experience in test plan development and execution.
• Knowledge of software testing, firmware, and hardware design verification.
• Electrical engineering expertise.
• At least 1 year of experience in standards-based environmental testing.
• Experience with sustaining and new product development projects.
• Previous experience in the design and certification of products used in hazardous locations, including performance certifications.
• Proficiency in test engineering and product testing.
• Ability to read and interpret requirements, fix bugs, and troubleshoot.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar highly preferred.
• Familiarity with hazardous location and/or performance standards (FM, CSA, ATEX, IECEx).
• Experience with test equipment, electrical systems, and test development.
• Associate degree in a related field; BSEE or CS preferred.
• Experience in design verification.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Strong working knowledge of product development processes, particularly verification and validation testing.
