The role works the third shift and emphasizes safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Operators are expected to lead by example, support cross‑training, and engage actively in scheduled safety meetings.
Key duties include configuring the mill for daily production targets, leading the mill crew, monitoring tubing quality, documenting production and time records, performing safe and efficient changeovers, and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
Candidates should have manufacturing or mill operating experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to read and use micrometers, pi tape, levels, and other hand tools. Experience with overhead cranes, basic computer and math skills, strong communication abilities, attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and a strong commitment to safety and quality are also required.
The job requires working in a warehouse or mill environment with an uncontrolled climate, wearing required personal protective equipment, and performing tasks in dusty and noisy conditions within OSHA guidelines. Physical demands include handling moving mechanical parts, using hand tools, and working scheduled overtime as needed.
