Maintenance Worker

Description

The Maintenance Worker installs, maintains, and repairs building structures and systems such as plumbing, electrical wiring, machinery, equipment, electronics, vehicles, and grounds, ensuring safe and secure facility operations.

• Install, maintain, and repair facility building structures and systems (plumbing, electrical, machinery, equipment, electronics, vehicles, grounds).
• Maintain and repair the physical structure to support safe and secure operations.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair machines and equipment.
• Install or repair electrical apparatus, including wiring and electronic components of machinery.
• Perform preventative maintenance according to the established plan.
• Supervise and track inmates/residents assigned to the Maintenance Department.

Requirements

• Hold a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Minimum two years of general maintenance or construction experience (technical/trade school courses may substitute year‑for‑year).
• Knowledge of building construction and operation of building systems (preferred).
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Be at least 18 years old.
