Attend pre-bid meetings to obtain project requirements and objectives.
Participate in project close out with Operations to review estimated costs versus actual costs.
Lead the bid team with the estimate closeout process.
Research and utilize cost history in the development of labor and equipment production.
Perform bid reviews with Project Team and/or Estimating Manager.
Identify labor and equipment production for estimate items.
Regularly visit jobsites to develop and maintain project familiarity and knowledge.
Review project plans and specifications to ensure all items are accounted for and plan is in place for execution of the project.
Manage the bid team during the job turnover and buyout process with Operations.
Identify and clarify project details with client, engineering, or architectural staff.
Adhere to and promote all Company Safety Policies and the Company Code of Conduct.
Remain current on trends, methodologies and best practices within the construction and cost estimating field.
Present final estimate at Executive Officer review.
Perform quantity takeoffs as required to build estimate items.
Contact suppliers and vendors for material and subcontract pricing.
Provide technical information, change order pricing, and other forms of support as needed to Operations throughout the project.
Evaluate subcontractor and material pricing and perform scope comparisons.
Develop project schedule.
Monitor progress of bid team to ensure that developmental milestones of the estimate are met.

History of successfully working internally with an operational team and externally with engineers/architects, owners, and subcontractors.
Valid US Driver's License and meet/clear pre-employment requirements (drug screen, background check, driver's record, etc.).
Demonstrated financial acumen and understanding of the business implication of decisions.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to establish goals and objectives to achieve project deadlines and monitor progress
Ability to work well under pressure to meet project deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze information and data skillfully and reach sound conclusions.
Ability to work independently while exercising good judgement and strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized while managing competing priorities.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline preferred and 2+ years' mechanical estimating experience; OR 5+ years recent mechanical estimating experience. Experience in commercial construction, utility, water/wastewater industries ideal.
Ability to communicate with clients, executives and individuals at all levels of the organization in order to effectively create and review project estimates.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Sage/Timberline, PlanSwift, ISqFt or similar software programs.
