The Substation Project Manager will provide technical and project‑management leadership on large, fast‑paced utility substation construction projects. Responsibilities include developing, planning, coordinating, and fulfilling all technical requirements for assigned projects. The manager must coordinate communication across departments and with the project owner while representing the company in day‑to‑day tasks.

Wilson Construction Company has an immediate opening in its Rancho Cordova, CA office for an experienced mid‑to‑upper level Substation Project Manager. The role requires a positive, results‑oriented attitude and the ability to lead and contribute valuable input to project teams. The successful candidate will be expected to relocate to project sites as needed.
Successful candidates should have relevant experience in electrical substation project management for large‑scale construction projects and be an organized, motivated self‑starter within the utility construction industry.
The workplace is smoke‑ and drug‑free, and candidates must pass post‑offer and random drug tests, including for marijuana.
- Five years of office/field management or technical services experience in 15kV‑500kV utility substation construction, including mid‑level management.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial technology, construction management, or equivalent experience.
- Experience managing EPC substation projects.
- Experience managing greenfield and brownfield substation projects.
- Experience with utility substation construction and renewable interconnects.
- Knowledge of permitting, planning, estimating, procurement, and material management.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Microsoft Project and Primavera preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication; present complex information clearly to all audiences.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to work outdoors and travel as required.
- Based in Rancho Cordova, CA; candidates must reside within reasonable driving distance or be willing to relocate.
