Senior Structural Engineer-Building Design

Description

• Work closely with current and prospective customers to create new business opportunities and promote business development
• Communicate with clients, contractors, engineers, architects, and vendors
• Prepare and review structural design calculations, drawings, and specifications
• Actively participate in virtual and in-person project and department team meetings
• Prepare written technical reports
• Provide day-to-day guidance, support, and mentoring to enable development of engineers and designers
• Prepare or assist with proposals, tracking budgets and schedules, and workload forecasting
• Perform construction site visits and field observations, review RFIs and submittals

• Valid driver’s license with ability to travel domestically, intermittently
• Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and structural analysis software such as RISA and/or STAAD
• Professional Engineer licensure and the ability to become licensed in additional states upon request
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• Design experience with existing building modifications
• Design experience includes steel, concrete, post-tensioned concrete, timber, wood, and masonry structures, as well as specialized analysis and inspections
• Good oral and written communication skills, including technical writing ability
• Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and to work independently
• Work effectively in a hybrid work environment
• Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, including a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
• Experienced using Revit
• 10 years of prior structural engineering experience with design of concrete, structural steel, and/or masonry structures
• Attention to detail, quality, and accuracy
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit

• This position’s anticipated base salary range is $96,350 - $123,550 annually. (This position is eligible for year-end and profit-sharing bonuses.) Offer will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
