Set up and operate GPS equipment, total stations, levels, and other surveying instruments.
Report any equipment issues or needs for replacement to the appropriate department.
Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, engineers, and other stakeholders regarding project requirements and progress.
Ensure accuracy and precision of survey work, including verification of data and cross-checking of measurements.
Coordinate daily tasks and schedules for the survey crew to ensure project deadlines are met.
Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues encountered in the field.
Ensure accurate data collection, including measurements, angles, and elevations.
Ensure proper care, maintenance, and calibration of surveying equipment and tools.
Lead and manage a field survey crew in conducting topographic, boundary, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, and other types of land surveys.
Maintain organized and up-to-date records of survey activities and findings.
Provide input into the preparation of project plans, estimates, and schedules.
Prepare and submit detailed survey reports, including sketches, maps, and digital data files.
Interpret survey data and provide recommendations for project design and construction.
Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and safety standards.
Conduct detailed field notes, sketches, and records to document survey data and site conditions.

High school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field is often preferred.
Proficiency in using surveying equipment such as GPS units, total stations, levels, and data collectors.
Typically 3-5 years of experience in land surveying, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Trimble equipment experience, required.
Experience with a variety of survey types, including boundary, topographic, construction staking, and ALTA/NSPS surveys.
Electrical and civil plan reading experience, a plus.
Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team and coordinate with other stakeholders.
Problem-solving abilities to address challenges that arise in the field.
AutoCAD and Microsoft office experience, a plus.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
