Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, with 3 years’ experience in DCS and PLC programming in a plant process or manufacturing environment, system design, modifications, and analysis, or 2-year technology diploma in controls or instrumentation, with 5 years applicable experience in DCS and PLC programming.
Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and descriptive control narratives.
Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
Requires knowledge of, and experience with, operating systems such as Microsoft Office Suite and related support systems. Demonstrated ability in the use of computer applications and systems related to the position and duties in DCS and PLC programming.
This position requires working at different sites within the Metro Vancouver region.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions and regulations applicable to the position’s area of work.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently using sound judgement to make decisions.
Good working knowledge of, and experience with, current applicable communication protocols.
Experience in the application and startup of industrial process controls is required.
Willingness and ability to undertake additional training relating to the duties of the position.
