What you would be doing
- Ensure RoHS/REACH compliance in components selection and solder process for all component designs.
- Identify and perform required tests to evaluate components, associated assemblies and analyze/report the failures, if any.
- Document and provide support to the Obsolescence Management activities and perform tests to support qualification of the associated products.
- Analyze and develop solutions to resolve all issues associated with obsolete components and perform component level tests.
- Manage all communication with manufacturers and distributors/Suppliers for all the selected components and evaluate all results effectively.
- Review and interpret all component data sheets and evaluate all components for various parameters related to the product applications.
- Administer Engineering Change Request (ECR)s related to components thru ECR process and maintain log of all requests and assist to resolve same thru Engineering Change Note (ENC)/Engineering Change Order (ECO) process.
- Identify appropriate sources and alternates for Components in addressing the obsolescence and achieving the Cost & Lead time targets.
