As a Summer Intern you will perform programming and conceptual design tasks through the preparation of contract documents under the direct supervision of one or more interior designers. Your work will support architectural and interior projects involving new construction, renovation, tenant improvement, and FF&E.
Interns join a multi‑discipline team and contribute to interior design across all phases of multiple simultaneous projects. Assignments include programming, space planning, design presentations, FF&E selection, specification editing, and producing deliverable drawing sets such as finish plans, interior elevations, and furniture plans.
- Design and specify project‑appropriate interior design requirements
- Select and document FF&E
- Perform Revit modeling and detailing
- Conduct site investigations and observations
- Prepare narratives, design presentations, boards, drawings, and specifications within schedule and budget constraints
- Participate in cross‑discipline discussions and coordination
- Organize and maintain the interior design materials library
- Maintain knowledge of current industry trends in space planning, lighting, finishes, furniture, and equipment
- Attend client and internal meetings, assist with construction contract administration, and support marketing/business development activities

Candidates must be currently enrolled in a CIDA‑accredited interior design program. Preferred qualifications include proficiency with Revit, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite, strong graphic and communication skills, a positive team attitude, and demonstrated leadership in extracurricular activities.
