Senior Design Manager

As Design Manager, you will take ownership of the design process across multiple care home developments, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, accurately, and in line with the client’s vision. You will act as the key liaison between external consultants, architects, and internal teams, driving coordination and resolving design issues.

• Lead design team meetings and coordinate input from all stakeholders
• Manage the design process from pre-construction through to handover
• Identify and resolve design risks, technical challenges, and value engineering opportunities
• Ensure compliance with building regulations, planning requirements, and care sector standards
• Oversee design consultants, architects, and engineers to ensure information is delivered on time
• Work closely with the commercial and project management teams to align design and buildability with cost and program
• Prepare and maintain design documentation and trackers

• IT literate with good document management skills
• Excellent coordination and problem-solving skills
• Strong technical knowledge of building regulations and sector-specific requirements
• Proven experience as a Design Manager (or Senior Design Coordinator ready to step up)
• Strong background in care home construction (essential)
• Ability to lead meetings and manage multiple stakeholders
• Knowledge of residential projects an advantage
