The technician will work alongside site investigation teams, performing sample collection and field data acquisition while adhering to Anchor QEA’s health‑safety and quality‑assurance policies. Travel away from the home office may be up to 50% to support projects across the Northeast and Midwest.
- Collect environmental samples (soil, sediment, surface water, groundwater, biota) for site investigations.
- Perform field data collection using digital tools and specialized monitoring equipment.
- Collect and process fish species for tissue analysis and population surveys using netting, trapping, and electrofishing.
- Conduct aquatic plant surveys, including identification and mapping.
- Record detailed field notes in logbooks, forms, or electronically.
- Follow Anchor QEA policies on health and safety, QA/QC.
- Manage and maintain general equipment.
- Travel up to 50% of time to support projects across the Northeast and Midwest.
- Support construction monitoring activities (oversight, air and water quality monitoring, sample collection).
- Assist with wetland delineations and surveys of restored wetlands.
- Use Microsoft Office to compile and manage field data and support project tasks in the office.
- Collaborate effectively with technical specialists on project teams.

- Associate’s degree or related field experience, or high school diploma/GED with 2+ years field experience.
- OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification preferred; training provided if not held.
- Clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicles (trucks, vans, box trucks).
- Operate and maintain small boats; government boaters certification a plus.
- Experience wading in small streams and working in remote areas in all weather conditions.
- Capability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lb.
Benefits
