Job Summary: The Production Planner will report to the Supply Chain Materials Supervisor and be responsible for using MRP to create a production schedule for our Manufacturing teams. This position will create and expedite production orders, while considering capacity factors, to fulfill customer orders or inventory replenishments. Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred, but not required. This individual will work collaboratively with Operations, Purchasing, Sales/Customer Service and Quality, to meet or exceed customer expectations.

  • Collaborate on any lead time changes with Operations through a specified procedure.
  • Assist in controlling inventory levels of assigned product categories.
  • Assist in attaining specified inventory reduction goals.
  • Report when ship dates and manufacturing schedules are not being met.
  • Maintain good working relationship with all department supervisors.
  • Routine review of planning parameters on parts to ensure production runs and appropriate inventory levels.
  • Communicate production priorities.
  • Support Inpro tractor/trailer for resin pick up and deliveries.
  • Assist purchasing/vendors to schedule the delivery of raw materials.
  • Maintain a production plan to accomplish specified inventory targets and on-time shipments.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all manufacturing policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with customer service to address late customer orders.
  • Schedule expected completion dates on all manufacturing work orders through specified production scheduling procedures and capacities. Release work orders for specified divisions.
  • Coordinate schedules between Extrusion, Injection Molding, and Vinyl Fabrication departments.
  • Answer expedite requests for Extrusion and Injection Molding departments.
  • Interrupt and change production schedules as necessary.
  • Make logical decisions based on experience and/or company policy.
  • Participate in S&OP meetings as needed.
