The Project Order Engineering Specialist proactively manages and coordinates the technical aspects of project orders ranging from basic to high‑value, complex equipment, including standard, assembled‑to‑order, and engineered‑to‑order items. The incumbent serves as a customer advocate and provides leadership on complex project issues while communicating with project managers, plants, field sales, and the assigned customer base about order status, maintaining drawing schedules, specifications, and documentation, and addressing technical concerns to ensure on‑time and accurate delivery of commitments.
When a project manager is not assigned, the specialist assumes the role of customer advocate and leads resolution of complex issues. They communicate with plants, field sales, and the customer base about technical status, maintain drawing and production schedules and specifications, and address technical concerns to ensure timely and accurate delivery of project commitments.
The specialist maintains the technical integrity of assembled‑to‑order projects by working with the technical document control specialist to meet documentation requirements promptly and collaborating with the post‑sales specialist to resolve post‑shipment warranty and damage issues. They also manage effective communication with internal teams—including project managers, plants, and field sales—as well as external partners such as contractors, distributors, consulting engineers, and OEMs to ensure successful project execution.
Candidates must hold a university degree or college diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution, and possess at least five years of experience with complex, large‑scale electrical projects in engineering, project management, or sales/quotations. Required credentials include legal eligibility to work in Canada without sponsorship, a Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation, and preferably a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Bilingual proficiency in English and French, a strong technical background in industrial and construction products, and extensive knowledge of Power Engineered Products are also essential.
