The role includes leading business development efforts, managing key client relationships, and overseeing all project tasks while mentoring younger staff. The candidate will enjoy considerable autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business.
- Lead a Land Development team while building and managing relationships with key clients.
- Provide practice vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, and maintaining positive client relationships.
- Maintain open communication with partners and team while growing and directing a Land Development practice.
- Manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, help recruit, and serve as a positive role model.
- Meet or exceed client expectations.
- Identify and track leads.
- Make presentations, write proposals, and define scopes of work.
- Establish budgets, ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables, and supervise execution of work.
- Receive support for accounting, administrative, marketing, recruiting, IT, and production functions.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work for Kimley-Horn in the United States without employer sponsorship, as the company does not typically sponsor H-1B or other work visas.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license with at least 10 years of experience leading a land development practice in the Tulsa market.
- Extensive client contacts and relationships with architects, developers, land‑use attorneys, planners, land owners, and local jurisdictional staff.
- Business development and marketing experience, including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting.
- Ability to communicate positively at all organizational levels.
- Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to manage land development projects profitably.
