- Write ecological reports, including scoping and baseline sections of EIAs and biodiversity net gain reports
- Apply environmental legislation, policy and guidance
- Identify taxa/species using keys and field guides across broad habitat types
- Conduct ecological and species surveys and habitat assessments
- Adhere to biosecurity and health & safety protocols
- Manage ecological desk studies: request data, identify and analyse designated sites/species, guide field surveys
- Undertake high‑level environmental constraints studies and MAGIC searches
- Collate data for preliminary ecological appraisals and assist in producing biodiversity strategies and related documents
- Support a range of projects and assist with bid production
- Prepare licence applications, including developing mitigation and monitoring plans
- Participate in training on best practice and survey standards
- Lead development of team training plans and contribute to upskilling
- Review plans and budgets for medium‑size or complex tasks and monitor progress

You will report to your line manager and team leader, coordinating and completing assigned tasks and projects within the Business Unit or project team. The role offers personal development, mentorship from industry‑recognised technical leaders, and training to enhance your technical knowledge. Working with a UK‑based team will require strong collaborative communication and the ability to manage time‑zone differences and remote communications.
- Masters in Zoology/Ecology/Conservation Biology or relevant field (Ph.D. preferred)
- Membership in a professional body such as CIEEM (desirable)
- 10–15 years of professional experience
- Knowledge of UK or European bat species (asset) or transferable knowledge from Indian species
- Basic understanding of UK EIA and Town Planning Regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in ecological consultancy or conservation (desirable)
- Strong team working and attention to detail (desirable)
- Project management for medium and large projects (desirable)
- Highly motivated, capable of working independently and as part of a team (desirable)
- Advanced knowledge of ArcGIS or bat analysis software (add‑on)
- Proficiency in a foreign language (beneficial)
