The role involves installing and commissioning HVAC control systems, interpreting project documentation, configuring communication protocols, and developing BMS programming. You will perform preventative maintenance, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and high‑quality service.
- Install, calibrate, and commission HVAC control hardware, including sensors, actuators, and panels across multiple BAS platforms.
- Interpret project drawings, specifications, and sequences of operation; update documentation to reflect field changes.
- Configure and troubleshoot communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.
- Develop, modify, and optimize Building Management System (BMS) programming and custom graphics, trending, alarming, and scheduling interfaces.
- Perform preventative maintenance and service calls to ensure system performance and compliance with operational standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, electricians, and technicians for proper system integration.
- Serve as primary client liaison, providing clear communication and maintaining professional relationships.
- Document all work performed, including installation details and service reports.
- Implement control logic for energy efficiency, including start‑up/shutdown sequencing, PID tuning, scheduling, and fault detection.
- Stay current on HVAC control technologies, tools, and best practices; pursue EPA and in‑house training as needed.
- Ensure adherence to company safety policies and procedures.
- Develop software tools for workflow automation to improve energy and operational efficiency.
- Support sales and project management teams with technical presentations and customer engagement.
- Provide training and support to end‑users and building operators.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated HVAC Controls Programmer/Designer to join our team. This role is responsible for the installation, programming, commissioning, and servicing of HVAC control systems and Building Automation Systems (BAS). The ideal candidate possesses advanced HVAC controls experience, vendor‑certified programming skills, and the ability to integrate multiple protocols and platforms.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, with an associate degree or technical certification preferred, and have at least two years of experience with HVAC controls, BAS, or DDC systems. Familiarity with major vendor platforms, strong understanding of HVAC systems and control logic, and the ability to read technical drawings are essential. The position requires a valid driver’s license, a U.S. passport, and up to 25% travel, including overnight stays.
