As a Manager in Training you will be the crucial link between operational strategy and on‑the‑ground execution, championing team development while driving safety, quality, and efficiency that make us an industry leader. Your mission is to master operations and develop into a high‑impact leader, mentoring staff and embodying our values to deliver daily excellence for our customers.
You will master the operational rhythm by learning and eventually overseeing daily operations such as staff scheduling, load planning, and route optimization. You will serve as the hub of communication, coordinating with drivers, sales teams, and other managers to ensure timely, accurate, and safe concrete delivery. You will drive operational excellence through key performance metrics, turn data insights into actionable strategies, and champion customer success with a “We Say Yes” problem‑solving mindset. You will build a culture of safety and quality based on our five principles and forge strong partnerships with team members, customers, and suppliers.
We seek candidates with a passion for people and at least five years of experience leading or managing others. Strong background in dispatch, operations, or logistics, preferably in construction, and the ability to manage moving parts under tight deadlines are essential. You must be tech‑savvy, comfortable with email, calendars, dispatch software, and web platforms, and possess a strategic, analytical mindset focused on continuous improvement. A culture‑builder mindset and the ability to give empathetic feedback while inspiring high standards are also required.
Are You Ready to Lead the Future of Our Operations? This role is part of our Operations Training Program for management candidates and is available in multiple locations across our 23‑state footprint. At SRM Concrete, we believe our people are the solid foundation of our success. We are searching for a driven, inspiring leader to join our family in our Manager in Training Program, a career‑defining opportunity to learn the business from the ground up and potentially oversee a plant or region.
