Review and update the hydropower and dam safety strategy and action plan
Review proposals to ensure that RFP requirements are met (technical and commercial) and that the price is competitive
Provide exposure to potential new clients and expand relationships with existing clients
Actively participate in executing engineering mandates such as study mandates, detailed design, dam safety reviews, etc
Identify target clients toward building a sustainable portfolio, balanced between repeat business and capital expenditure projects
Oversee project delivery and serve as a sponsor or Engineer of Record for selected projects
Serve as client account manager (CAM) for some clients
Promotion of our experts (SMEs), both externally and internally
Review RFPs and steer the proposal execution plan and deliverables in the direction needed to win, using elements established in the pursuit strategy
Work with CAMs to ensure a coordinated client management process
Identify any capability gaps and strategic partner or teaming requirements needed to win
Support proposal preparation through creative thinking and alternative approaches
Recommend potential strategic resources and organizations that can complement in-house expertise
Mentor young and future lead engineers within the organization
Support succession planning and identify strategic hires who will lead the business
Position the firm for upcoming business opportunities and prepare pursuit and capture strategies
Track business opportunities using BBA’s opportunity database management system
Identify, assess and recommend key hiring competencies specific to the hydropower and dam safety sector to ensure high-quality work, and expand markets
Provide assistance during the proposal and award process and throughout the project life cycle
Cross-sell the services of other disciplines within the firm

Registered as a professional engineer in Québec or Ontario
Consulting engineering experience in civil structures hydropower and dam design, business development and project execution
Demonstrated inspiring leadership
Business acumen
Advanced level of French and English to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients outside Québec. The frequency of English use may range from occasional to daily, depending on ongoing projects
Strong commitment to health and safety
Civil engineering degree from a recognized university
Sense of equity and inclusion
Asset: Experience preparing budgets, estimates and schedules, with financial modelling skills
Available to travel occasionally
At least 15 years of relevant experience
