Helper Concrete Finish 1

Description

Key duties include assisting with the pouring, finishing, and smoothing of concrete structures, dismantling prefabricated and wooden forms, and performing various miscellaneous construction tasks while maintaining clean and orderly work areas. The employee will also identify required tools and assess safety risks to implement appropriate precautions.

• Identify all tools needed for each task
• Detect safety risks and apply appropriate precautions
• Assist in pouring concrete structures
• Assist in finishing and smoothing freshly poured concrete
• Assist in dismantling prefabricated and wooden forms
• Perform miscellaneous construction processes as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of work areas
• Provide reliable transportation for site travel
• Commit to full work schedule and overtime when required
• Adhere to all safety, company, and site rules and regulations
• Maintain required personal and hand tools

Requirements

The role requires at least two years of industrial concrete experience, a solid understanding of concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing, and the ability to meet all physical and safety requirements. Candidates must have reliable transportation, possess the necessary tools, and be prepared to follow all company and site safety regulations.

The position demands extensive physical activity such as standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lb, and working at heights or on scaffolding with proper fall protection. Work must be performed in all weather conditions while wearing required personal protective equipment.

There are no direct reports for this position. Preferred qualifications include current or former Zachry employment, formal technical education, and experience with carpentry, concrete, and rebar. Zachry offers a safe, drug‑free, equal‑opportunity work environment.

• Demonstrate journeyman‑level knowledge of concrete selection, mixing, pouring, and finishing
• Apply knowledge of materials, tools, and basic building and form construction techniques
• Preferably be a current Zachry or Zachry‑ROF’ed employee
• Preferably have prior experience with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
• Preferably possess formal or technical education
• Preferably have experience with carpentry, concrete, and rebar
