Water Resource Engineer Project Manager

Description

The manager will act as the primary client liaison, guide a multidisciplinary team, and oversee project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Coordination with government agencies, consultants, and contractors ensures compliance and successful execution of each project.

• Lead design, analysis, and implementation of water management, drainage, and flood resiliency projects.
• Serve as primary client liaison, maintaining communication throughout project life‑cycle.
• Manage and mentor multidisciplinary teams, assigning tasks and ensuring objectives are met.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and allocate resources.
• Coordinate with agencies, consultants, and contractors to ensure compliance and successful execution.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, analyze data, and produce technical reports.
• Design stormwater management solutions such as detention basins, green infrastructure, and erosion controls.
• Review and approve design plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure projects meet regulatory, permit, and environmental standards.

Requirements

Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in civil or water resources engineering, a Professional Engineer license in New York and/or New Jersey (or the ability to obtain one within six months), and at least ten years of experience in storm‑water and hydraulic design with a strong project‑management focus. Proficiency with CAD/Design software and storm‑water modeling tools is required.

• Bachelor’s in civil or water resources engineering; PE license in NY/NJ (or obtain within 6 months).
• 10+ years of stormwater and hydraulic design experience with project‑management focus.
• Proficient in CAD/Design software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, InRoads/OpenRoads) and stormwater modeling tools (CivilStorm or StormCAD).
• Proven ability to win work, develop client relationships, and write proposals, scopes, and budgets.
• Strong communication, staff mentorship, and resource‑management skills; ability to travel to job sites.
