Mixer I 1st Shift

Description

The Batch Mixer creates batch mixes using established formulas, ensuring safety, quality, and daily production targets are met. The role rotates through mixing tasks as directed by the supervisor, follows strict safety protocols, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.

• Follow all safety procedures, verify safety devices, wear required PPE, and participate in 6S events.
• Manage and handle hazardous waste in accordance with regulations.
• Perform minor equipment setup and operate mixing and testing equipment.
• Gather and verify raw materials for each batch using the double‑check sheet.
• Follow standard operating procedures to produce batch mixes and maintain mixes for all lines.
• Complete production documentation, data entry, and work orders accurately.
• Apply LEAN thinking by participating in events, submitting suggestions, and updating visual tools.
• Document LEAN‑driven changes according to ISO guidelines and embrace continuous improvement.
• Build effective working relationships, back‑up other production lines, and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
• Maximize communication flow within the department and across shifts.
• Operate equipment such as fill machines, pallet jacks, batch guns, mix tanks, microscopes, and viscometers.
• Maintain high attention to detail and read/comprehend work orders, charge sheets, and PPE requirements.
• Complete respirator fit testing and annual HAZMAT training upon hire and thereafter.

Requirements

• Prefer candidates with compounding, quality, or science education and prior manufacturing experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college with advanced mathematics or science preferred.
