- Lead design efforts for the analysis of IT structured cabling, audio/video, security, and other low‑voltage building systems using engineering software to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations per code and IMEG standards
- Perform site assessments and generate detailed analysis and technical reports
- Interact with clients to understand needs, gather requirements, and communicate technical information while building and maintaining professional relationships
- Provide in‑process design reviews of low‑voltage systems and implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs meet standards and client requirements
- Deliver technical training and mentoring and assist in resolving field issues with minimal senior support
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices; lead research, development, and innovation within IMEG
- Prioritize safety and identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with low‑voltage ICT systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including engineers, architects, and project managers—to deliver integrated solutions meeting project goals
- Lead project interviews and presentations
- Coordinate, oversee, and manage projects of varying size and complexity, serving as point of contact for teams and clients
- Collaborate with business development staff, Project Executives, Client Executives, and Market Directors during early project stages
- Assist Project Executives and Client Executives with design scopes, fee calculations for proposals, and contract reviews
- Create project schedules with milestones and deadlines
- Generate monthly billings, submit financial information to Accounting, and update billing projections and completion percentages
- Ensure designs follow owner standards, IMEG standards, and code requirements; achieve design milestones and complete quality‑control processes
- Coordinate design staff scheduling across all design and construction phases; lead progress meetings and provide documentation
- Respond to and resolve client or construction concerns; manage change orders and obtain approvals

The position offers two career pathways: a Technical Path, where the engineer acts as project lead or lead engineer for complex projects, and a Project Management Path, where the engineer manages project delivery, schedules, budgets, and client communications. Both paths require engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of structured cabling, audio/video, and security systems.
Candidates must hold a BS in a related engineering or STEM field, possess a Professional Engineer license, and have at least 14 years of experience in building design consulting. Physical requirements include regular mobility and occasional lifting up to 25 lb, with up to 25 % travel.
