Cost Specialist

Description

• Supports the preparation of cost data for proposals and contracts.
• Assists in developing specific project codes of accounts and recommends appropriate modifications and revisions
• Performs routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities as directed.
• Assists in the development and application of unit rates (cost and job hours) to quantity takeoffs
• Assists in the development of quantity takeoffs for a specific discipline or specialty
• Assists with budget allocation, reporting, and cost control for specific construction disciplines or groups of disciplines.
• Supports the project trend program (Change Management program)
• Supports the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports.
• Networks and connects with internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action

Requirements

• Builds productive and collaborative internal/external working relationships Demonstrates judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
• Possesses limited problem-solving responsibility while working under defined guidelines
• Home office experience is must as a Cost specialist.
• Moderate supervision with some latitude for judgment
• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
• Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
• Skilled in oral and written communication
• Proficiency in domain specific software applications - Microsoft Office Applications, Ecosys, Power BI for example.
