The Role

Overview

Tasks

-Perform all work with strict adherence to all applicable safety legislation and procedures; -Disassemble machines and repair/replace/adjust parts accordingly; -Work from engineering drawings rough sketches, manuals or verbal instruction and install equipment to diagram specifications; -May be required to perform machine operator duties on occasion; -Repair, maintain, install, replace, troubleshoot and diagnose various machinery and mechanical equipment such as: Centrifuge,pumps, conveyors, hydraulic press, dewatering press, belts, fans utilizing hand tools and testing instruments; -Maintain equipment in proper operating condition; -Clean and lubricate equipment, parts and machinery; -Estimates time and material costs on electrical and mechanical projects; -Complete work orders as required and ensures appropriate follow-up communication; -Inspect completed repairs and recommend appropriate solution; -Assist co-workers with any questions or issues regarding task completion. -Requisition supplies and materials as required and approved by management; -Provide performance feedback to workers to motivate or improve adherence to operating procedures or quality standards;

What You Bring

-ex. Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) -Proficient at troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining and servicing all plant equipment in a timely manner. -Excellent communication skills. Must be fluent in English (read, write and speak). -Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily. -Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, and attention to detail. -Thorough knowledge of all applicable safety legislation. -Strong problem solving, planning and organizational skills. -Valid 447A Instrumentation and Control Technician Licence -Must be comfortable rotating through-out the facility as required. -Must Work well with others and possess good hand eye coordination. -Ability to work in a team environment. -Must be deadline oriented, reliable and dependable on start and finish times as it impacts the operations -Experience troubleshooting,repairing, maintaining and servicing process instrumentation. -Minimum of 2 years' experience as an Instrumentation and Control Technician in a heavy industrial environment, such as water treatment, chemical processing, petrochemicals, cement production, or metal processing. -Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record. -Experience with a variety of machinery, vehicles, material handling equipment, hand and power tools.
