The role involves maintaining an up‑to‑date Plant Logbook, performing Level 1 maintenance and servicing of both military and commercial plant and material handling equipment (MHE) in the UK and on deployment. Operators will carry out first, halt and last parade services, report faults promptly, and keep accurate records.
Operators will drive and operate plant and MHE while adhering to vehicle classification and safety standards, load and unload equipment on transporters or rail flats, and complete all job and service documentation with required signatures.

Plant Operators will join a vibrant, inclusive community in Complex Facilities/Defence Equipment and will serve on the MOD contract. The position requires becoming a Sponsored Reserve in the Army Reserve, with basic training for those without recent military experience.
Candidates should have a Category C (HGV) licence; prior plant or MHE experience and military background are advantageous but not required as full training is provided. The role demands the ability to work independently, manage workload under pressure, and understand customer needs.
