Utilize estimating software to organize estimates per internal guidelines and client requirements.
Serve as the Aecon contact for various consultants, engineering firms and subcontractors.
Collaborate with a team of estimators and support personnel to produce the required proposal deliverables.
Identify risks and ensure necessary precautions are implemented to manage exposure.
Develop a strategic and competitive construction approach/execution plan for each proposal.
Present or ‘Turnover’ awarded proposal information and estimate details to the Project Team.
Chair the required proposal initiation, status and approval meetings with Senior Management.
Review and approve estimates and resource requirements developed by disciplined estimators.
Review and comment on client RFP/Tender documents, drawings, specifications and contracts.
Responsible for the preparation and documentation of cost estimates following the Company’s estimating policies and procedures.
Work together with Operations personnel, Business Development Managers and Senior Management teams.
Creation of technical, commercial, marketing and promotional documents.
Review of estimates, including labor hours, material costs, tools & equipment, rentals, materials and subcontractors.
Present proposal and estimate details to senior management to obtain required approvals.

Strong communication skills – oral and written.
Understanding of both design/build and build to spec approaches.
Strong understanding of Contracts and legal terms and conditions.
Minimum 7+ years’ experience within the civil infrastructure construction industry.
P. Eng./CET, or equivalent industry experience.
Familiar with AACE guidelines and terminology.
Proficiency with Microsoft applications, Primavera P6 and/or Ineight (HardDollar) estimating software.
Ability to work in a multi-discipline team environment including other Aecon personnel, vendors, consultants and clients.
Exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
Project Management experience and/or field experience on large civil construction projects.
Common sense with strong attention to detail.
Strong estimating background on large capital major construction projects.
Knowledge of unionized trade agreements and wage schedules.
