Procurement Support: Collaborate with the Procurement team to obtain competitive pricing from vendors and suppliers for major equipment and bulk materials.
Project Team Interface: Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Field Operations to align estimates with proposed execution plans and constructability reviews.
Wear and operate within full PPE, including arc-flash suits, respirators, and high-voltage protective gear.
Risk Identification: Identify potential project risks, scope gaps, and technical challenges, incorporating appropriate contingency costs into the estimate.
Subcontractor Management: Solicit, evaluate, and compare quotes from subcontractors (e.g., specialized controls integrators, fiber optic installers).
Quantity Take-Offs: Perform detailed and precise quantity take-offs for all E&I components, including conduit, wiring, cable trays, panels, devices, controls, and associated installation materials.
Tasks may be performed around heavy machinery, moving equipment, and high-voltage systems.
Cost Development: Develop comprehensive cost estimates encompassing material costs, labor hours (based on productivity rates), equipment rentals, subcontracting services, and indirect costs.
Occasional work during nights, weekends, or extended hours during outages or critical maintenance periods.
Specification Review: Thoroughly analyze project blueprints, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, instrument loop sheets, and technical specifications to ensure all project requirements are captured in the estimate.
Client Interaction: Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walkdowns, and client clarification sessions to validate scope and gather necessary data.
Maintain manual dexterity for handling tools, wiring, calibration instruments, and small components.
Maintain the ability to stay alert and focused during high-voltage troubleshooting and switching.
Bid Preparation: Prepare, review, and finalize complete bid proposals and supporting documentation for project submission.
