Managing Quantity Surveyor

Description

The Managing Quantity Surveyor is responsible for maximizing project profits and improving the construction process through effective cost control, procurement, and reporting. This role ensures value for money from suppliers and subcontractors while supporting the smooth delivery of projects.

• Review and approve subcontractor tenders, payments, and final accounts.
• Advise project teams on contractual and commercial issues.
• Produce accurate and timely commercial reports.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to achieve goals.
• Assist in setting and managing project budgets and cost targets.
• Review and draft project correspondence.
• Participate in safety meetings and help resolve any incidents.
• Ensure all commercial procedures are followed correctly.
• Lead and support the commercial team.
• Prepare monthly valuations of work in progress and forecast final project costs.
• Measure, value, and negotiate contract variations.
• Prepare and agree on project final accounts.
• Support company safety initiatives and promote a strong safety culture.
• Manage and monitor project cash flow.
• Manage subcontract agreements and handle claims and variations.

Requirements

Experience Required

• Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP).
• Good project management and organizational skills.
• Strong understanding of cost planning, estimating, and budget control.
• Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
• Skilled in contract administration and dispute management.
• Minimum 8-year(s) working experience, 5-year(s) relevant working experience, 2-year (s) GCC is a plus.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
