Energy Market Analyst (Renewable Developer & Asset Owner)

• Compile, analyse, and interpret market curves, spot pricing trends, and broader pricing dynamics within Australia’s wholesale and renewable electricity markets.
• Contribute to strategic pricing of PPA contracts by integrating economic, technical, and regulatory market data, supporting the company's ambition to become a future retailer.
• Build robust financial and valuation models (including for PPAs and project financing structures) to inform commercial strategy, support investment cases, and optimise returns.
• Present technical and commercial findings in clear, compelling formats for both technical and non-technical audiences, supporting executive-level reporting and board decision-making.
• Proactively research market developments, competitor activity, and policy shifts influencing renewable project viability and financial outcomes.
• Engage with internal stakeholders (trading, finance, development, and executive teams) to ensure alignment and informed decision-making across projects and contract structuring.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and reporting obligations as part of market operations and broader asset management.
• Gather, synthesise, and present market intelligence by integrating supply-demand fundamentals, regulatory developments, and emerging energy technologies.

• Familiarity with market simulation tools (e.g., PLEXOS, Aurora) and energy data visualisation (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and commercial acumen.
• Understanding of renewable technologies (wind, solar, storage) and their commercial value streams.
• Adaptability, initiative, and a results-focused approach to managing multiple priorities.
• Strong stakeholder management, capable of building collaborative working relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of pricing structures, energy policy, market regulation, and risk assessment in the Australian context.
• Advanced financial modelling (Excel, Python, or R), data analysis, and market forecasting.
• High ethical standards, integrity, and a commitment to the company’s sustainability mission.
• Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Experience with PPA structures, NEM dynamics, and renewable asset valuations.
