In this role you will ensure projects are built safely, manage all construction phases from early works to commissioning, and maintain strong relationships with New Zealand, Australian, and global teams. You will also oversee reporting, implement best‑practice project management systems, and coordinate contract selection and handover to operations.
- Ensure project safety and compliance with LSBP and Worksafe NZ requirements.
- Manage construction aspects of renewable energy projects from early works through commissioning.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with NZ, Australian, and global teams.
- Provide construction reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Implement best‑practice project management systems and controls.
- Assist T&C team in selecting optimal EPC and NSP contractors from RFP to contract negotiation.
- Coordinate interaction between business development and asset management departments.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets and schedules.
- Guarantee compliance with permits and contractual obligations.
- Manage handover from construction to operations with early involvement.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong contract‑management skills, the ability to lead and inspire teams, and a highly detail‑oriented, professional attitude. Excellent communication, presentation, and IT/programming abilities, along with a flexible and collaborative mindset, are essential.
- Minimum 10 years experience in renewable energy and construction, preferably EPC or NSP background.
- Understanding of NZ renewable energy constraints and applicable Australian learnings.
- Project management experience with MV and HV network‑connected renewable plants.
- Knowledge of fundamental construction project management systems and procedures.
- Formal construction‑related qualifications in project management; engineering degree preferred.
- Full driving licence required.
- Proven track record delivering utility‑scale ( >50 MW) renewable projects.
- Experience working with global EPC contractors and strong EPC relationships.
- Strong relationships with NSPs across design and construction phases.
- Excellent contract management, team leadership, and detail‑orientation skills.
- Professional, flexible attitude with strong written and verbal communication.
- Proficient IT skills and basic programming capability.
