The Role

Overview

Design and detail parcel material handling systems using 3D CAD.

Tasks

-Participate in firm engineering meetings with customers and suppliers and may lead technical discussions during these meetings. -Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure custom equipment is provided per design specifications. -Produce and/or compile installation details, including supplier installation drawings and manuals, for the field. -Collaborate with vendors to review equipment drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with customer requirements. -Create detailed Bills of Material for purchasing equipment. -Create point load drawings when required. -Produce detailed mechanical installation drawings. -Travel to job sites to verify field conditions. -Verify calculations, such as horsepower and throughput. -Review and create as-built drawings. -Design parts or platforms required for the material handling system. -Leverage 3D CAD systems to engineer material handling systems in compliance with customer specifications. -Report project status to the Project Engineer as required to maintain the project schedule.

What You Bring

-4-6 years of experience with projects in the parcel space. -Proficiency in 3D CAD Systems (Inventor, SolidWorks, PTC CREO), AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite. -Experience with parcel projects. -Excellent communicator. -Ability to transition between several projects. -Solid knowledge of the advanced functionality of 3D CAD systems. -Detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Attention to detail and ability to work in the details. -Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (ME, EE, or other engineering/CAD). -Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
