In instances prior to contract award, assist the closeout team with review and markup of contract documents, and in some cases, represent REI in a client-facing position of calls.
Review, comment, and oversee an HV design performed by others as well as equipment procured by REI.Knowledge of how to specify the relative BIL, voltage withstands, S/C electrical and mechanical ratings is required to perform the reviews.
Represent the company in a professional manner, actively promoting and advocating for its brand.
Review contracts for potential pitfalls or highlight obligations of REI to the client.
REI Project Management in the selection of equipment and securing of long lead items.
Work closely with the Rosendin Project Manager to coordinate the design criteria with budgetary issues.
Back-check for quality assurance the work of design packages assembled by subcontractors.
Develop and communicate conceptual SLD, Layout, transmission lines with little to no support.To support estimating, contract closeout, or BD, this task sometimes requires documents generated in 2-4 days.
Perform preliminary designs for prospective projects that REI is pursuing.This would require the ability to develop an SLD and GA from scratch for estimating purposes.

Fluency with IEEE Standards, having been familiar with a good foundation but more so the ability to research and learn new standards

Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others
Ability to work on multiple projects at any time.Designs can be 3-6 months in duration with multiple proceeding at the same time while supporting estimating with bid packages
Technical studies such as harmonics, transients, Ampacity, Short Circuit, Load Flow, Grounding, and any other study in the HV and MV field
Ampacity, short circuit, and protection coordination studies
Minimum 5 years of experience with electrical engineering design or engineering management with MV collection, substation and/or transmission line for renewable or utility projects.
Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
PE or EIT is preferred
General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
Up to 10-15%. Quarterly travel to Anaheim for in-person meetings, team coordination, or training, attending factory acceptance tests, or occasional construction site visits
Possess a concept of installed costs of typical substation and transmission components to conduct value engineering functions as it relates to construction and general knowledge of costs of equipment
The ability to assume responsibility, interface, and coordinate with others is essential, as is the ability to analyze and resolve complex engineering problems
Willingness to learn new engineering software such as ETAP, EZPower, and Cymcap, etc.
A four-year degree from an accredited university or college in engineering or construction sciences
Select, scope, and oversee subcontractors or internal engineering resources assigned to your work or project. In this instance, the individual must be comfortable and capable of supervising a design group of 1-4 subcontractors for a single project.
