  • Drive value engineering processes and manage design changes in collaboration with project teams.
  • Own the technical delivery and strategy throughout the pre-construction phase, ensuring compliance with Dalkia’s Project Delivery System (PDS).
  • Define consultant scope, manage design fees, and align deliverables with pricing, procurement, and delivery strategies (including DRM/BG6).
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate design and technical risks effectively.
  • Discharge Dalkia’s legal and technical duties under CDM 2015 and the Building Safety Act.
  • Ensure fully coordinated and clearly communicated designs across all disciplines.
  • Establish and oversee technical deliverables plans, managing internal and external design reviews.
  • Work closely with digital engineers, project engineers, and consultants to ensure seamless integration of design across all phases.
  • Coordinate the engagement of specialist contributors (e.g. MMC/offsite, CDP designers) at appropriate project stages.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, regulations, and best practices.

Dalkia Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Manager to join our Technical team in Bolton, where you’ll play a key role in delivering high-profile projects and driving technical excellence

  • Experience managing design risk and specialist input (e.g., MMC, CDP)
  • Strong and proven experience across Building Services Engineering, with exposure to sectors such as healthcare or commercial
  • Pre-construction design management experience on MEP projects valued between £5M–£50M
  • Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (BEng, MEng, or MSc) - Desirable
  • Skilled in stakeholder coordination and design communication
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status or working towards - Desirable
