Senior Construction Manager

Description

This opportunity has been created to work alongside the project manager to manage the entire project process, from pre- start activities, through design, procurement, and construction phases, to practical completion and finalisation of the defects period.

• Lead negotiations, approve contracts with Project Manager and ensure financial targets are met.
• Site setup and management in line with ODGroup branding requirements, and mandatory H&S and welfare standards.
• Supervise and mentor Construction Managers and other junior staff.
• Assisting the Project Director and Project Manager in pre-construction phase, including procurement, program and site establishment.
• Act at the primary liaison with clients, architects etc.
• Liaising with project Technical Services Manager to manage installation of MEP packages.
• Monitoring the construction programme, advising on any modifications where necessary, including remedial/mitigating actions and accurate reporting on project progress.
• Chairing onsite subcontractor meetings, with specific attention given to programme, progress, quality, H&S and agreed OD Group standards and procedures.
• Managing and delivering all aspects of each project in line with ODGroup QHSE protocols and procedures and to the standards set by our ISO accreditations.
• Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and third party inspectors (building control, etc)
• Liaising with Project Director, Project Manager and commercial team to maintain and record changes and variations in line with our change notification procedure.
• Attending design review meetings for specific trades / areas to ensure buildability and coordination is considered and is within the commercial budget.
• Maintaining client and subcontractor relationships to closeout post-contract works quickly and efficiently.
• Ensuring that the project close out process is delivered in a timely and efficient manner with the most positive experience possible for the client.
• Managing project administration to ensure documentation and record keeping is accurate and up to date.

Requirements

We are currently looking for a talented and ambitious Senior Construction Managers to help secure and deliver projects as part of the delivery team in both ODInteriors and ODCreate.

• Excellent client facing and account management skills.
• Attention to detail; a process-driven approach with good time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• H&S – minimum requirement of SMSTS.
• A confident, knowledgeable, and articulate personality.
• A leader with the ability to develop and mentor other members of the team.
• Deep knowledge of both building fabric and technical services.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Experience with Procore, Asta, and Powerproject, or similar packages.
• A proven track record of delivering fit-out projects safely, on time and on budget.
• High level of commercial acumen.
