As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be working in our social housing, providing a stable and profitable contract, delivering excellent service and support through our local teams, who understand the importance of working together for the local community.

This role will see you working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, part of a local team assisting the Commercial & General Manager with commercial control & reporting on high standard Commercial activities to Housing properties, delivering best in class commercial acumen, customer service and satisfying all safety, quality, and cost control standards.

Agree subcontractor valuations and payments.

Review, validate and approve subcontractor quotations & variations in line with pricing agreements (NHF V7.2) to ensure value for money is achieved.

Identify, build up, generate and agree variations with the client.

Provide support and assistance towards the financial management of the joint venture maintenance contract, ensuring that financial targets are achieved.

Value/measure work in line with contractual pricing agreements (NHF V7.2)

Provide an effective interface with the clients, partnering management, consultants, and suppliers.

Previous social housing experience working across Voids & Repairs business streams

Experience measuring works, generating and agreeing applications.

Optimal commercial usage of asset management system by adhering to MEARS commercial protocol and processes.

All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

IT skills including advanced Excel and Word are essential.

Experience in financial reporting and data analysis.

Experience reviewing, validating and approving subcontractor quotations & variations in line with pricing agreements (NHF V7.2)

Have experience in working NHF Scheduler of rates and dealing with SOR codes

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are necessary.

Strong numeracy and financial management skills.

Experience managing supply chain partners.
