Demonstrated interest in environment, heavy earthwork, construction, mining, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering Degree or related undergraduate degree with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later.
Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
Learn basic principles of Civil and Geotechnical Engineering as they apply to tailings management and the Mine Waste industry and engage with the local Anchorage team that supports civil and geotechnical projects throughout Alaska.
Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
Prior internship and leadership involvement on campus.
Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects.
Must be 18 or older.
Ability to travel 20 - 80% of the duration of employment, including air travel and boat travel to potential work sites in remote areas of Alaska. Work may include staying in dormitory-style accommodations at a mine site.
Basic proficiency with office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
