The Mechanical Supervisor will lead daily mechanical field activities on renewable‑energy construction projects, ensuring work is safe, efficient and compliant with specifications, codes and regulations. Reporting to the Mechanical Superintendent or Project Manager, the role bridges engineering design and field execution while coordinating with subcontractors and the engineering team.
- Supervise field mechanical personnel and subcontractors to meet project plans, specifications and safety standards.
- Provide technical guidance to engineers and crews, interpreting drawings and resolving on‑site issues.
- Monitor daily progress, maintain records and report status to the Mechanical Superintendent or Project Manager.
- Assist in planning and scheduling mechanical work, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Conduct field inspections to verify quality and compliance with mechanical codes and standards.
- Support safety policies by partnering with the Safety department and promoting a safe work environment.
- Review and approve mechanical work performed by subcontractors and self‑perform crews.
- Coordinate with engineering to resolve design discrepancies and optimize installation methods.
- Participate in job start and close meetings, contributing to lessons learned and continuous improvement.
- Manage material and equipment needs, track usage and minimize waste.
- Coach, mentor and train field staff to foster professional development and high performance.
- Communicate effectively with project management, suppliers and stakeholders to address challenges and provide updates.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, possess at least three years of mechanical experience in the energy sector (including two years in a supervisory role), and have solid knowledge of mechanical systems, codes (e.g., OSHA) and drawing interpretation. Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills, proficiency with construction‑management software, a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel are also required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of mechanical experience in the energy sector, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, installation practices and utility‑scale renewable energy requirements.
- Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings, specifications and applying OSHA or similar codes.
- Excellent organizational, communication and leadership abilities.
- Experience with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
