In this role, the engineer will apply technical expertise across the ITS/ATMS lifecycle, from planning and design through implementation and operations. Responsibilities include developing design plans and specifications, supporting master‑plan and policy development, conducting field testing and infrastructure verification, and preparing technical reports and electrical design documents. The engineer will also stay abreast of emerging technologies, assess their relevance, and contribute to proposals, marketing, and industry events.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, systems engineering, or a related discipline and possess a professional engineer (PE) license. They should have 5–10 years of relevant ITS/ATMS experience and be familiar with FHWA systems‑engineering processes. Strong problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills, a willingness to travel, and the ability to build client and team relationships are also required.
