We are hiring a part‑time Maintenance Assistant for The Reserve at Thousand Oaks, scheduled three days a week from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The role involves handling TEL orders and resident concerns, maintaining the interior and exterior appearance of the community, assisting with water‑related issues, and providing light housekeeping or supervised maintenance as needed.
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for the upkeep of floors, bathrooms, walls, stairways, hallways, elevators, and common areas, following work orders and safety protocols. Duties include cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, keeping work areas safe, using proper PPE, monitoring security, and ensuring storage areas are organized and chemicals are labeled correctly. The position also requires addressing daily work orders such as light‑bulb replacement, furniture repair, HVAC filter maintenance, and minor plumbing or electrical troubleshooting.
Additional responsibilities include interior and exterior painting, landscaping, pool and spa maintenance, and preparing vacant apartments by painting, carpet cleaning, and installing window treatments. Non‑essential duties may involve assisting resident moves during emergencies, supporting fellow maintenance staff, promoting a positive professional image, and contributing to community marketing efforts.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, possess a valid driver’s license, and clear required background and health screenings, including a recent TB test. Prior mechanical troubleshooting experience is preferred, though on‑the‑job training is provided for the right attitude. Strong English communication skills, the ability to follow directions, and proficiency with tools are essential.
