The Senior Water Conveyance Engineer role supports pipeline design projects across the United States, reporting to one of several AECOM offices. The engineer will collaborate with pipeline design experts, conduct field inspections, and contribute to both new construction and rehabilitation efforts. This position offers exposure to a nationally recognized pipeline design practice and opportunities for professional growth.
The position requires nationwide travel, a valid U.S. driver’s license, and may be based in locations such as Boston, MA. Sponsorship and relocation assistance are not available. The role is offered as a hybrid work model with compensation ranging from $140,000 to $180,000 based on location and experience.
- BS in Civil, Geotechnical or Structural Engineering with at least 8 years of relevant experience (or equivalent).
- Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months of hire.
- Experience in municipal water, wastewater or stormwater pipeline design, analysis, installation, and inspection.
- Proficiency with Mathcad/MATLAB and 2D/3D CAD.
- Knowledge of pipeline design codes, standards, and regulations.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and pass motor vehicle records review.
- 12+ years of pipeline design experience (preferred).
- Master’s degree in a related field (preferred).
- Understanding of open‑cut and trenchless construction methods such as micro‑tunneling and jack‑and‑bore.
- Experience with water, storm, and sanitary sewer rehabilitation and condition assessment.
- Finite element analysis expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in diverse teams.
