Draft reports for submission to regulatory agencies or clients.
Design, and/or participate in hydrogeologic investigation (baseline), water supply and (compliance) monitoring programs (water quality).
Interact with a multidisciplinary team which may include supporting the coordination and/or implementation of other environmental (e.g., water quality, aquatic, fish) monitoring programs.
Compile, manage and interpret hydrogeologic, water use, water quality, and other environmental data (e.g., review of near-real-time telemetry, continuous and periodic water level, and lab data).
Hydrometric / climate station installation, data logger programming, surveying and streamflow measurement.
Prepare, participate, and lead (after appropriate training and mentoring) field programs required for hydrogeology, hydrology and water quality data collection and monitoring programs. Field programs could occur at both local and remote locations. The field programs will be mostly in Alberta and British Columbia and may be occasional or consistent, both short-term and longer-term (2-3 weeks), depending on project workloads, scopes of work and time of year.

Minimum two years of experience.
B.Sc. in geology, environmental sciences or engineering with academic training in hydrogeology and a minimum one year of pertinent experience (e.g., work or graduate degree thesis).
Currently registered, or eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) or Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC) as a member in training.
Valid driver’s license with eligibility for coverage under Hatfield’s corporate insurance.
Background in R statistics, coding, and/or GIS.
Experience and interest in data compilation and analysis.
Experience in data compilation and analysis, including use of software tools such as Aquarius, EQuIS or similar software for loading, editing, reporting and visualization of sample data.
Experience and a keen interest in field work. Field work in remote locations – sometimes under adverse weather conditions and overtime will be required.
History of progressively responsible positions in geological or hydrogeological programs.
Fluent English verbal communication and ability to write concisely.
Vadose zone hydrogeology and water quality / geochemistry.
A willingness to learn new skills both in the field and office and flexibility in regard to contributing to other environmental programs (climate, hydrology, etc.).
Experience supervising/undertaking drilling programs, overburden and bedrock logging (e.g. logging of soil and bedrock cuttings and core logging), well/vibrating wire piezometer (VWP) installation, hydrogeologic testing (e.g., slug, packer, pump tests) and groundwater sampling.
An inclination for quantitative hydrogeology/hydrology and/or groundwater modelling (e.g., MODFLOW, Groundwater Vistas, FEFLOW, etc) would be highly desirable.
