CoLab helps mechanical engineering teams bring life‑changing products to market faster with a cloud‑based platform for design review. The platform lets subject matter experts access, evaluate, and comment on 2D drawings and 3D models, and its AI peer checker, AutoReview, automatically scans designs for errors and non‑compliance. By capturing knowledge hidden in emails, spreadsheets, and other sources, CoLab ensures that lessons learned and design guidelines are applied exactly when needed. Companies such as Johnson Controls, Komatsu, Schaeffler, and Polaris have used CoLab to launch products up to 40% faster while cutting BOM costs and quality escapes.
The Senior Product Manager on the Build Viewing team will own the strategy and roadmap for CoLab’s viewing technologies, which handle rendering and interaction with 2D drawings and 3D CAD models. Embedded within a tightly‑knit engineering group, the PM will balance immediate customer needs with long‑term product goals, guiding technical trade‑offs around the HOOPS SDK, file formats, and scalability. This role bridges customer problems, engineering decisions, and product outcomes, influencing UX, infrastructure, and partner relationships. It is a high‑impact position for anyone experienced with complex visualization tools or CAD systems.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned product manager with a strong technical foundation, preferably in mechanical engineering, CAD, or 3D systems, and a history of shipping features in deeply technical areas. They thrive in ambiguous environments, can lead high‑trust conversations with engineers, designers, and customer‑facing teams, and are curious about how mechanical engineers work. Success in this role requires a track record of managing complex infrastructure or platform components and the ability to communicate trade‑offs clearly to diverse stakeholders.
CoLab offers a full‑time, permanent position with a competitive compensation package that includes stock options, an extended health benefits plan, unlimited paid vacation, and a 5% RRSP matching contribution. The role supports hybrid and remote work options, with the main office in St. John’s, NL, but the position can be performed from anywhere in Canada. The company encourages candidates from historically marginalized groups to apply even if they do not meet every qualification, emphasizing potential over perfect fit.
