Key duties include end‑to‑end management of engagements—defining scope, budget, resource allocation, and delivery—while organizing timelines and generating complexity estimates. The Associate Director will serve as the primary point of contact for clients and developers, mentor consulting staff, and monitor project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure efficiency. They will also develop integration plans, milestone trackers, and dashboards across multiple workstreams.
Guidehouse is seeking an Associate Director with management and technology consulting experience to lead oversight, assessment, and project management for State and Local Government NYC projects. The role requires up to 75% travel and involves both IT and non‑IT client engagements. The candidate will act as a trusted advisor to senior government leaders.
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree with at least seven years of technology/management consulting experience in New York City (or a master’s degree with five years, or eleven years without a degree). Public‑sector experience, preferably with state and local government, is required, and candidates must currently reside in NYC with no relocation. Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to build confidence with senior government leadership are essential.
Preferred qualifications include PMP certification, deep knowledge of state and local government consulting, and demonstrated success in core management‑consulting skills. Experience managing multiple engagements, prioritizing client‑driven tasks, and delivering presentations using visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, and PowerPoint is valued. Candidates who excel at facilitating solution development and cross‑functional collaboration will stand out.
The position offers a salary range of $149,000‑$248,000, with compensation determined by skill set, experience, and other factors. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and Rx coverage, paid sick time and holidays, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, health‑savings and flexible‑spending accounts, and eligibility for a discretionary bonus. Additional perks cover parental leave, tuition reimbursement, student‑loan paydown, professional development, employee referral incentives, and programs such as emergency backup childcare and a mobility stipend.
