Water Resources Engineer

Description

As a Water Resources Engineer for Scheibe Consulting, LLC, you will perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, general civil engineering design, cost analysis, conduct floodplain and drainage studies, and watershed modeling. You will perform H&H modeling, engineering calculations and produce engineering drawings on a variety of water resources related projects. You will interact with clients, contractors, and eventually with local government officials to ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements. You will impact the whole project from conceptual through design phases.

• Support and direct engineering activities to ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform H&H modeling, engineering calculations, and prepare engineering drawings for various water resources projects.
• Conduct alternative studies and benefit-cost analysis.

Requirements

• EIT in Texas (required);
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred but not required;
• M.S. Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (U.S. Degree);
• 3+ years of experience with water resources projects in the following areas: H&H, Stormwater Management and Drainage Design;
• CFM certification (required);
• Relevant training (hydrology, hydraulics, GIS, etc.) are preferred but not required;
• Familiarity with City of Austin storm-water design manuals;
• Relevant professional memberships are preferred but not required;
• Demonstrated experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS for flood risk modeling and mapping;
• Strong knowledge of Civil Engineering cores and principles;
